I’ve recently switched from 60mg Cymbalta to 150mg Wellbutrin XL. The first 2 weeks I had bounds of energy, probably too much as I also wasn’t sleeping much. Now all of a sudden I feel like I was hit by a bus. All of my pain that I’ve barely felt since starting Cymbalta came back and I’m exhausted. I’m not sure if I just hit a wall after running around the last 2 weeks with all of that energy, or if maybe the Wellbutrin isn’t working for me?
Just wondering if anybody has switched and… read more
I was switched to Wellbutrin a month ago ,
I gave it a month , I don’t think it’s good for people with Fibro ,
I’ve had feet and ankle swelling and joint pain
I am winging off now ..
I pray when it gets out if my system I will feel better
One of the first things I started with was Wellbutrin XL it made me get suicidal thought. Awful tremors that the doctor took me off of it right away I was told never to try it again. The only thing I take is Cymbalta but I did fine without taking meds for fibromyalgia before. I have a med review and I'd like to get of it completely.
It has taken a combination of Wellbutrin XL and Lamictal to keep my fibro manageable. With both of them my doctor started at low dosages and slowly increased them if and when my symptoms got worse.
Hi
Well done taking that much Cymbalta. I cant take more than 60mg. The welbrutrin is fantastic. I cant take that either as that lowers your threshold for seizures. That is not a fibro problem so enjoy the wellbutrin. Sometimes when we feel good we just run with it and that may be the problem. Possiblt rest up and start of slow and see how you go.
I ever anything doesnt work for you go to your Dr.

Hello!
My Psychiatrist switched me, on my request, from Cymbalta, which, I had been on for many, many years, as, it is an anti-depressant, that, helps Fibro pain. I take the generic form of Wellbutrin, Bupropion Hcl Er (XL) 24 hr.
I feel much better on Bupropion.
I lost weight going off of Cymbalta.
My Rheumatologist prescribed Tramadol, a muscle relaxer, to ease the pain of Fibro, along, with other pain that I have.
I discontinued my Tramadol, advising the above M.D.s.
I now take, over the counter, extra strength Acetaminophen gelcaps, 500mg., 2 twice daily.
I have less pain and can cope with depression better because I am exercising and stretching, in moderation. I stay out of bed. I place myself in a better mindset. Take a walk, call friends and family. Laughing. Experiencing joy in the small things. I have new rx glasses - I love to read.
Inform your M.D.(s) about your meds and progress.
I wish you the very best!
