New Symptom: Headaches

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Auburn, CA

Hi fibro warriors,
I have been having a terrible time lately with extreme muscle spasms in my neck and upper back, much more than usual.
Also I am having bad headaches with pain in my eyes. Very unusual for me.
Do any of you have this?? I was recently told I have IBS. Oh joy, a new symptom.
Wondering if this is new too in fibro or something else. Will see my Dr regardless.
Thanks for any input.
Blessings to all of you,
Kristi ❤️

Members validated the original poster's experience of severe neck spasms, upper back pain, and headaches with eye pain as common fibromyalgia symptoms, with many sharing they experience similar issues including jaw and teeth pain, nausea, and dizziness. Several members offered practical relief strategies including lying in a dark room, using hot baths or showers, applying lidocaine sprays or cool washcloths, trying muscle relaxers, and eating small meals throughout the day rather than three large ones to manage IBS symptoms. A recurring theme was that fibromyalgia presents differently in each person, what works for one may not work for another, and members encouraged continuing to advocate with doctors while sharing the emotional burden of living with unpredictable and limiting symptoms.

I hope you feel better soon.
I also have been experiencing the same symptoms for some time now. I also experience the jaw and teeth pain with the headaches. Pins and needles in my legs. It certainly zaps you of your energy and limits you to what you want to be able to do. Was back to ER and was told one of my enzymes was very high and now waiting to have an endoscopy done. Apparently this enzyme is responsible for breaking down fats. Which apparently my digestive system is not doing . Now on a stomach pill daily.
Has anyone else experienced indigestion etc?

Re: IBS

Good News, one part of Fibro that can be controlled with a good diet is IBS. Learn what foods trigger constipation (pain meds constipated me) and learn what foods stop diafrrhea (BRAT = Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) Best to stay away from greasy foods when one has Diarrhea.

Read articles about IBS and foods to eat, foods to stay away from.

I have had extreme nausea and dizziness throughout the summer and fall. So much so that I bought a walker for venturing outside. The doc prescribed a pill, but it made the nausea worse . Another appointment on Tuesday.
