Who and how do they treat TMJ and how is it diagnosed? Any advice welcomed?๐คจ
Your gp or dentist can diagnose you
I got injections into my jaw. It was locked. Be careful chewing food. Put smaller amounts in your mouth. Concentrate on how you chew.

I've had it since the mid 1970's when I had a diving accident. I've had my jaw joints replaced twice now - once in the mid 1980's and again in about 2012. I ended having implants on the bottom, and a "flipper" on the top as my mouth doesn't open very far. ๐ค I am finally OK with new teeth being done at extreme cost by two wonderful doctors !!
I got a mouth guard years ago but I just didn't wear it very much. I did not take my teeth grinding seriously. Now I wear it at least while I sleep. I take it very seriously as I do not want to have bone loss. The dentist said to wear it at least 6 to 8 hours a day so I wear it while I sleep even though I'm not aware of my teeth grinding when I sleep. Actually, I probably should wear it during the day but I need to eat frequently.
Please get checked by your dentist. I wear night guards (one for tmj and one for gum biting). Tmj is serious. I have grinded through several guards over the years. Imagine the damage to your teeth. And still I have a constant ache in my left jaw.
