Costocondritis Plus
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello everyone, along with my fibro related costocondritis I have recently developed the most excruciating pain to the muscle at the back of my left armpit/shoulder. It 'burns' and hurts so badly that it actually make me vomit. I would like to know if anyone else has this and whether they have any clue how to stop it. Thanks and I hope you are all having a much better day today 💐

I have just had a consultation pain management says it is a common thing for people to have if they suffer from chronic pain conditions . Because the muscle stops in a spasm in response and anticipation of pain from neck issues. Mine tightens and tightens if i try to do things that i consider normal . I haven’t vomitted as yet , but i do feel like i am going to faint or my legs are going to pass out from shooting pain from neck to head. It it feels like i am goong into shock but he says this is how my body reacts to tge pain. So i wander if this is how your pain symptom effects you . I have every empathy because it feels like you are sleeping on a tyre i totally get it . X

That sounds like Possibly Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I got this 30 years ago from a shallow desk, making me sit on an angle with typing and turning my head, awkwardly, all day, most days. Pain appears with activities affecting my TOS. Sleeping in awkward position can cause this to flare. You may want to have doctor check this out and see what he finds.
