Members shared mixed experiences with Cymbalta for fibromyalgia, with some reporting severe side effects requiring hospitalization or immediate discontinuation, while others found meaningful relief from pain, anxiety, and fewer flares when they persisted through the initial adjustment period. Several members described being unable to tolerate Cymbalta or similar medications and switching to alternatives like Effexor or Prozac, with one member emphasizing the importance of keeping updated medication lists for emergencies. A recurring theme was the deeply personal nature of medication response, leading one member to ultimately decide against switching from a long-term antidepressant after weighing the risks and hearing others' experiences.

Cymbalta definitely helps me for pain and anxiety. The first week was tough and part of the second week, so my doctor lowered the milligrams and then slowly worked me back up. I’m glad I stuck with it.

Jaycee69, I take Prozac. It has worked well for me and I have been on it for 17 years with no problem. It does not work well for pain, though. Fortunately, Robaxin is helping with that. I have an opiod but I try not to take that every day.
