I take Tizanidine 4 mg daily at night. Or anytime during the day if I hurt bad, then take again at night before I sleep. It helps relax your muscles

I take Flexeril. It comes in 10 mg doses. It helps with my chronic back pain. I take about 5 mg at bedtime just so my back and relax so I can sleep. Sometimes when I wake up I might take a 2.5 mg dose, a fourth of a pill. I donā€™t like to take too much because I get sleepy on it. But if Iā€™m having a bad pain flareup a fourth of a pill can help get me through the day. Iā€™ve been using Flexeril for over 20 years. I read your story update. Were you ever able to try out a pool? Some water walking in mild stretching in the water might feel good. Even doing a whirl pool afterwards if youā€™re close to a YMCA. The heated whirl pool might help relax your muscles too.

Agree with above reply - occasionally take a half an Ativan (similar to Valium) if I havenā€™t slept well and dread a second sleepless night (which seems to spiral into symptomatic periods). I think used sparingly these are the very effective medications. Doctors donā€™t like to prescribe these as they are addictive. I will use 3-6 pills a year (break them into halves) which is so low use you can see if a Dr. would be willing to prescribe if you have any trouble.

I sometimes take Valium on nights when I know I will be tossing and turning, unable to sleep. A low dose gets me to sleep and relaxes the muscles. I am very careful with how often I take it as it is addictive; so it's only when really necessary. It feels like having drunk alcohol, makes you mellow and floppy.
