Plant based diet is good and effective for pain fatigue inflamation ect and yes weight loss too. Plenty of fruit and veg which I'm not too good with eating actually but I make smoothie drinks of fruit and veg to get it into me that way as well as cutting out gluten wheat ect and gone plant based. Weight started to drop off me whilst improving my pain fatigue stiffness brain fog inflamation ect. I cannot take strong meds have bad side effects but changing my diet has improved things up to now quite drastically all round.

I am on the chunky side normally. Worked my entire adult life focusing on slimming diwn. I was very active and had lots of energy pre-fibro.
With all the different medications and a more sedentary life style, I have turned into a giant puff-a-lump. The joint pain from carrying an extra 40 pounds is not helping.
Whether you are under or over weight, our bodies are not functioning as they should.
Check all medication for side effects regarding changes in weight.

my weight is an issue always with the 9 surgeries, 2 back surgeries, Fibro and FND. I went to our local hospital for weight mgmt, but they don't do anything except write the food down. They refuse to give me adipex or anything because Im on Adderall. My friend and I say we are the only people we know on Adderall and still carrying to much weight. Years ago, Phen Phen really helped me out. But of course they took that off the market. I think I should be able to decide if I want to get back on it, even for 3 or 3 months to get the weight loss started and then stop it. Someone I was talking to who doctor give her "Phentermine & Ozempic" which is helping her loose weight. She said the Ozempic is for blood sugar for diabetic and she isn't one but he is letting her take it to help her with the cravings. That's what i need, someone willing to help me out.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. I understand your frustration. Don't no if you are on medications. But I've been on gabapentin for about 2 1/2 years now and I've put on 30 pounds. I hit a weight 1 month ago that stopped my in my tracks. I started the south beach diet. And I am very strict about it. For the most part. If I don't have some certain foods i will just substitute. But no carbs. No sugar. No alcohol. You have to eat what it tells you. I have the book. It has 3 phases. I have lost 10 pounds so far. It's been a month. I think I could of lost more if I felt a little bit better where I could've exercised a bit more. A lot of weather fronts been coming thru and it's been rather chilly here in the sunshine state. Right know it is thundering and lightning with a front. But for me tight now I don't feel bloated. It is a bit expensive to get all the foods you need. But I am doing my best. If for nothing else. I eat a salad lol. Hope you feel better. At least it would be cheaper than the monies you need. Hugs and Prayers
