My doctor just recently prescribed these medications. If you’ve had any experience with either of them, let me know what you think.
You will get several different stories, everyone reacts differently to medications. I was on cymbalta for 2 years, it didn’t help with anything except my anxiety. But after 2 years it stopped working....my doctor weaned me too fast so I went through horrible withdrawals. Just know that both of those drugs can cause withdrawals when getting off of them. If you are desperate and want to try, I would only start one at a time. If you start both at the same time, you won’t know what drug is causing side effects or working.
Am on both they work very well together, however one of the side effects of cymbalta is its gives you complications with your bladder. So please be wary
I personally chose not to take any of the meds they wanted to prescribe. I think I was prescribed Lyrica once years ago. When I got home with it and read the side effects or possible things that can happen I said no thanks.
I see a lot of people in these groups that take a lot of medication and these are them. To me it would be a personal decision and if the benefits outweigh the risks.
Good luck to you. No judgement just compassion. :)
Personally, I wouldn't take them. Alone, they do terrible things to your body but together, I would think it would be worse. I took Lyrica for pain and all it did is give me involuntary muscle spasms and did nothing for the pain. My husband was on Lyrica and getting him off of that was horrible. What we realized, after he was off of it, was that his mind had cleared up after he got the med out of his system. He was bright eyed, made sense, and was able to form words again. Yes, he had a hard time putting things together. We had no idea it was so bad. That's just 2 separate instances, you need to make your own decisions but I wouldn't take them together.
@A MyFibroTeam Member, is he starting you on 30mg’s? That’s a good place to start. But please remember, they can be difficult to get off of.
