Members shared widely varied experiences with COVID-19 vaccines and fibromyalgia, with reactions ranging from no side effects at all to severe flares, fatigue, body pain, and in some cases lasting worsening of fibromyalgia symptoms that prevented returning to work. Several members described second doses being significantly harder than first doses, with symptoms like fever, chills, muscle pain, and exhaustion lasting one to several days, while others reported getting multiple boosters with only minor soreness. A recurring theme was the unpredictability of individual responses, with some members choosing not to get further shots due to adverse effects while others continued vaccination, viewing it as safer than risking COVID itself given immune concerns.

I got the second dose of Moderna earlier today. I will not lie. I am flat out knocked on my ass miserable. The first dose wasnt too bad. I had a very very sore arm but only for about 2 days and some fatigue. That was it. This time is the total opposite. Fever of 99.5 (i normally run bwlow 98), chills so bad my body is convulsing, dizziness, nausea, restlessness, and PAIN. OMG the PAIN. Not only does my arm kill, but every muscle in my entire body feels like its on fire. Even my teeth hurt. Its now 4:30am here in the US and I have yet to get a single minute of sleep. I am just feverishly tossing and turning. Sickest ive felt in years. I truly do wonder if its due to having a more hightened immune response because of fibromyalgia. Still, i do not reget the decision to get the vaccine. If this is anything like what having covid is like, I'll take a day or two of shot side effects over a whole week+ of feeling like this.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine that is just finishing up clinical trials and will be approved within weeks. It requires only one dose and has minimal sideeffects. It’s effectiveness is the same as the others.

I have pondered the vaccine issue myself.
In the last year i have had allergic reactions to five different drugs. Not prone to allergies, so this is new.
I think getting the covid vaccine is important. However to be on the safe side, i am getting mine at my doctof’s office where they have a Epipin. A bad reaction happens immediately.
Side note: My doctor daughter just got her second vaccine. She works in the hospital.
30% of people getting round two will be miserable for a few days. Chills, severe aching, fatigue and a whopping headache.
