I get this sensation on the right side of my mouth, including the back part of my tongue, my gums, sometimes my throat. It can be described as my tongue feels too big, like there is something on it like a bit of food, and sometimes like a dry cat tongue. It is normally not painful, just extremely bothersome. Does anyone else have anything similar? It has been over 3 months for me now with this.
I had it for a year, every day, but different intensity throughout the day. Nothing could be seen on the tongue or in the throat. Used Biotene mouth wash and toothpaste, avoided spicy food, anything too hot. Took iron supplement, not sure if that helped. Burning tongue syndrome, might be hormonal. I am so glad it is gone.
My tongue malfunctions and slightly swells when I have been exposed to gluten. Makes it hard to speak sometimes. The bizarre world of Fibromyalgia!
@A MyFibroTeam Member, I have burning tongue syndrome too but I’m lactose intolerant.....so I eat frozen grapes. It’s almost like eating popsicles but with out all the sugar and chemicals
It's called burnt tongue syndrome. It's horrible! Icecream is the only thing that makes my mouth feel better.
