Does different movements make trigeminal neuralgia, feel different, more painful?
Absolutely. I can't chew thick food or really crunchy food. Talking can set it off. So, if I eat like tortilla chips, I might get a searing shooting pain across my face and teeth. I absolutely cannot chew gum. That makes me feel like I have a tooth that is bad and get a bad toothache. Sometimes, I just have crawling feeling on my face. It can really vary. With most people it's just one side. I drew the short stick and it is both. You really need to see a neurologist and have an MRI done. It can be something that they can treat. Mine isn't. Just mostly pain management. I get Botox for migraines and that helps me.
Yes, very chewy or thick
foods, gum chewing, even
bending too fast, bending forward, or a
chilly, windy day can trigger
it. I've had mine triggered
by loud music.
The kind that
"gets on your
nerves", really
can.
