Wait until you see the doc before making any treatment decisions. I have had lots of foot issues. Bone spurs on great toe joint did require surgery but painless ever since. Plantar fasciitis for about 25 yrs. I wear custom orthotics they help a lot. Also have tight Achilles tendons which I treat with splints from doc worn as needed when relaxing. Tennis ball or bottle of water give relief when rolled on bottom of feet. Wrappable ice packs also help all of the above. My podiatrist recently treated arthritis in my feet with cold laser which also helped other issues. Hope you have a great podiatrist they are worth gold!

Hi Kim,
I have Plantar Fasciitis. At times the pain is in my heels and my Achilles’ tendons feel tight and painful. I get some relief from rolling my foot on a tennis ball or frozen water bottle. Applying ice to the back of my heels helps some too. I have a friend who gets cortisone shots and it helps a lot. I haven’t done that yet. I’m thinking about you! Gentle hugs... 🤗

I would question the dr. about wearing orthotics in your shoes before considering surgery.

I've had plantar fasciitis. It's miserable! I tried everything before going to my Chiropractor for something else. She had me start "spelling out" the alphabet twice a day with my foot. Set in chair, left leg, and, write letters with foot in the air. Sounds crazy! But it worked! I do it with both feet about every other day now. That's was about 5 years ago. No problem since! Ho po e it helps you!!
