Members shared mixed experiences with acupuncture for fibromyalgia, with opinions ranging from finding it relaxing and helpful to experiencing no long-term relief or even triggering flare-ups. Several members described the needles as painless or like a mild pinch, though a few noted discomfort in certain areas like the feet, and one member reported significant pain, bruising, and worsened symptoms. A recurring theme was that acupuncture provided temporary relief for some but rarely lasted beyond a few days or weeks, leading many to stop due to the cost, while others found weekly sessions genuinely beneficial and worth continuing.

Breaking the skin sends signals to the brain that there's been an injury. I've been told that triggers a fibro flare.

I do it weekly. It helps so much for me.

It made me sooo much worse and the needles going in and waiting to take out were excruciating. I bleed and had bruising. It made all my symptoms much worse and terribly expensive. Some people love it. But if you don’t like it first time, don’t keep doing it and waste money.

Yes I’ve had acupuncture twice and each time I felt really good after for about 3 weeks so it really is good and it doesn’t hurt just like a pin prick but some acupuncture’s r more gentle than others 😊
