After 5 back surgeries and some hardware, the orthopedic doctor told me, on my last back surgery that my back was about 10 to 15 yrs older than me due to all the arthritis in my lower back and he said i had severe Osteoarthritis of the spine. I've known for years and have been told I've had arthritis in my back. My medical doctor has fibromyalgia written in my chart. Also. I've had 10 other surgery's on my knees, shoulder, and hands
My husband has been getting prp treatments. He doesn't have fibro. It seems to be helping him. I also have osteoarthritis in hands, back, hips. I also have costochondritis. Sometimes have all at one time or just a few never pain free. Gentle hugs
I have osteoarthritis as well as fibro...
My doctor told me that the fibro makes all the other problems feel worse and the 'other' problems make the fibro feel worse! He said that the more I'm able to get the other problems under control, the more it will 'soften' the fibro flares. I've found that to be true. I've found stem cells and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments helped me considerably.

Hello Curt,
I wish I knew the difference as well. When I first started experiencing chronic pain I was also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, then I started having trouble walking and had severe pain in my hips. My doctor ordered a hip X-ray and it came back where I had chronic severe osteoarthritis in both my hips. Then my lower back started causing me pain more than usual so I got an X-ray and found out I have mild osteoarthritis in my lower back. As for my fibromyalgia I still feel it all over, especially in my neck and elbows. Iām concerned that my osteoarthritis is spreading and making my fibromyalgia worse, it Iām not a doctor, but it sure feels like it.
Hugs to you
