Is Anyone Else’s Fibro Pain Worse When Leading Up To Their Period?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
London, UK

I feel like there is a link between my Fibro pain and my menstrual cycle.. as my period gets closer my pain gets worse, the dull cold ache I get in my pelvis legs and shoulders are excruciating as well as the tingling/buzzing heavy pain I get all over.
Thank you xx

Estrogen and progesterone are anti-inflammatory to the nervous system. And they drop to their lowest levels when the cycle starts. Hence, the increase of symptoms. I get it as well.

I experienced similar symptoms and ended up with a hysterectomy at 28. It was significantly better afterwards.
