Your whole body tense , Jaw clenching even holding your breath against pain. I’m always pulling my ears out of my shoulders🥴. Anyone else?

Fibromyalgia is usually characterized by an over-activation of the sympathetic nervous system. What does that mean? Think of it like this: your sympathetic nervous system is your fight-or-flight response and your parasympathetic nervous system is what relaxes you.

Yes. I have to purposefully concentrate on my body and make everthing unclench. I have my husband take note and tell me when I seem clenched or tense to help me focus on relaxing.

Yes. I have had this for 30 yrs also. I think longer. And have always had tension but the last few years I have been really bad. Just like Roxygaye said, flight or fight. My jaws get so sore from clenching and shoulders are all scrunched up. Just dealing with chronic pain . And if the door cracks or any noise and I jump and feel so startled. Is this fibro too ? 😱🙃💜🙏🏻

Hate to say this but I’m glad I’m not alone. At least I know I’m not losing my mind...well not all of it anyway🥴
