Do you have other health issues other than fibromyalgia? Fibromyalgia does not cause inflammation or damage to joints, prednisone is used to treat inflammation in your body along with other rheumatic conditions. Steroids like prednisone have been tested in people with fibromyalgia and did not appear to improve symptoms.

I have never been prescribed steroids for Fibro, but I do know it helps some with inflammation. If it has stopped helping, no point in putting it in your body. However, the pain you are having may be needed to be controlled by something else. I take Lyrica, Tramadol and a muscle relaxer. I also get trigger point injections and I have had Toridol shots when needed. Inflammation can come and go and supposedly is not related to fibro, but a lot of us fibro fighters have inflammation. I know I do. Sometimes foods effect this, but not for all of us. I know how it feels to want and need a cure. I wish for one every day. I have dealt with this for years and tried so many things and what I am on now makes me functional, but this time of year I hurt so much more. Talk to your doctor, if you are not already, maybe seen a pain clinic. That is where I go for my medications, treatment, injections. Gentle Hugs.

Initially the steriod helped buy gradually did not . I still take it but I don't think it helps. I just switched to Lyrica which lessened my symptoms but that's about it. I need a cure of some kind .
