Is Fibromyalgia Progressive?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi I have had fibromyalgia for 5 years now and I have always been good at managing it but over the past 2 months I have been under a great deal of stress and I have these new symptoms appearing. I did look them up and going by what I read they are all related to my fibromyalgia. One being Numbess and a burning sensation in my thighs? Is my fibromyalgia progressing with the new level of stress?

I have had fibro diagnosed for about 14 years. Over the years I was okay, then really bad and lost a job and was bed ridden and then better to the point of being able to work but still having constant pain everywhere along with other weird symptoms and conditions. It can go up and down, but it will never deteriorate our bodies (so they say). So yes, it can get really bad but it can also get a bit better. I do get pain/numbness and tingling in my legs, arms, hands, feet and even in my face. Our nerves are going crazy and our muscular system with it. Gentle Hugs. I hope you feel better.

It comes and goes, but you may have a pinched nerve. If you can, try some light stretches in that area to release it. I would definitely suggest talking to your doctor.

It seems to--or over the 30+ years I've had it it has.

Yes it does progress. I've been suffering for 30 years and since I've stopped working 3 years ago I am not as bad. But man there is just no letting up. I am getting older and it just seems that there is always something up with the weather. Fibro sucks
