Jen I agree. I’m overweight to begin with. However for me the Duloxetene is taking care of most of my pain. In a perfect world we wouldn’t need it

I was put on 30 mg daily initally with lyrica. It helped alleviate a lot of my widespread body pain and rib and muscle pain. When it seemed to not work as well my Dr increased it to 60mg and that helped. I have been on that dose for over a year. I have had weight gain but honestly cant tell if its from meds or inactivity from chronic pain. That would be my only possible side effect. As much as I hate the weight gain, I do not want to go back to my pain prior to the duloxetine.

Yes I take it. It helps me. I can get through the night and day without having the horrific pain. I can get my days better. I'm snow to get it off bed and maybe a chore or two. Every is a new one.

You could get 100’s of different answers. You will not know until you try it because everyone is different. I took it for 2 years, it didn’t help with anything except my horrible anxiety. I have to admit, I loved that part. Over the 2 years I was getting what I thought were fibromyalgia symptoms. Once I got cymbalta out of my system, those symptoms went away. After being on it for 2 years it stopped working (60mg once a day) my doctor increased it to 90mg a day. That made my body jerk really bad. My husband couldn’t sleep because of my jerking all night and he can sleep through anything. I decided to just get off the medication. I weaned per my doctors instructions but he weaned me too fast. He did it over 3 weeks, that caused me to go through horrible withdrawals. I’ve heard some people say they stopped taking it with no problems, but from my research I would say that 90% of the people trying to get off cymbalta had a problem unless they weaned. You have to figure out if the risks outweigh the benefits. There is a blood test to see what antidepressant would work best for you, I’ve heard good and bad about the test. I have a friend that was on lexapro, it took him 18 months to get off of it and he is still having bad side effects from it. Unfortunately he had that test too late...but the test did show that he should never have been put on it. Please research antidepressants and discontinuation syndrome.

I was only on it 3 months and it was terrible for me. Ive never been depressed or felt like i had no future, but i did with cymbalta. It took probably 6 months for me to feel my self again.
