My fibro specialist and GP want to start me on Lyrica due to my nerves firing like crazy everywhere constantly. Has anyone ever taken this? Did you find relief from it? I'm very skeptical when it comes to taking synthetic drugs (they don't mesh well with my body). I'm nervous to try this but if any of you have found it helpful or not I would love to hear your experiences!
Thank you :)
I've taken it for a while now and it has helped me a lot to be able to function and do every day tasks, I even work about 15 hours a week now. It's worth a try if you are suffering. You can start out with a small dose and see if it makes a difference.
I also have been on Lyrica for years!! I get so tired of taking medication that twice I thought Lyrica was doing nothing for me and starting decreasing my pills (six a day). Oh yes, if you do try it, don’t ever quit cold turkey, terrible withdrawals!! Anyway, both times by the time I got down to one pill, I was in so much pain it changed my mind and I realized how much it was helping me and I went right back up to six quickly! Don’t know why I forgot I had tried decreasing it before but it all came back to me pretty quick once I started feeling that horrible pain again! Good luck if you try it!!
Ive been on it for years. Its been nothing but positive for me. The only side effect for me is weight gain (which I hate), but I would chose weight gain over crippling pain. I still deal with symptoms and pain every day, but lyrica has given me a life. I remember how bad I was before I started and I do not ever want to go back to that
I'm on it since May and it decreased my pain of about 25%
I am taking Lyrica, because l was prescribed it by my specialist. I am not sure it is helping me the way l think it should. Today l could hardly get out of bed and get my legs moving. Too much pain and expectations from everyone. Off to work now will tingling legs that feel like fire.
