I am looking for something that can help me sleep, but I'm limited to the kinds of medication that I can take because I absorb medication differently. Have you experienced any dizziness nausea, or has that effects of melatonin lasted for a longer than 12 hours? What has been your experience?
Keep in mind that if you take melatonin long term your adrenal glands (which are the glands that produce melatonin) will stop making it. You cannot just stop taking the melatonin abruptly. You have to slowly cut down your dose to allow your adrenal glands to start producing melatonin again on it's own. Sometimes it won't go back to producing it again on its own or it takes a long time to start reproducing again. You can mess up your sleep/ wake cycles so maybe contact your doctor about how to get off of melatonin the correct way!
I take melatonin. I do fine on it. I don’t experience any dizziness or side effects of any kind. It does help me sleep. Not as long as I would like. But at least I sleep.
You mentioned you absorb meds different than others. Can you elaborate? My daughter has fibro and no pain meds seem to work even meds like portable etc. Tylenol does not reduce her fever bc she doesn't absorb it. Is there a name for this issue? Anyone know how to fix it?
No I never heard of that one talk to your doctor to see what he can prescribe for you
Melatonin helps me sleep without any side effects.
