Does Anyone Have A Lot Of Difficulty With Their Hands?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

It seems like for years now that bending my hands to either grip a pen or hold a bowl causes the hand to cramp. I really like to make jewelry, cook, draw, write, and paint but it's become so difficult I rarely do my hobbies anymore. Does anyone know how to get my hands to become more functional? Any supplements that would be beneficial? Thank you

I have developed arthritist type stiffness and pain. Several of my fingers lock and I have to snap them to be able to open my hand.
An elderly friend of mine shared an old fashioned home remedy that worked for her.
She had so much trouble and pain, that it was recommended she have surgery. Before having surgery she decided to try her grandmother’s remedy for arthritist.
She does all her dishes by hand. Soaking her hands in hot soapy water regularly. That was twenty years ago and she has full use of both her hands and no pain, all by doing dishes.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Sounds like arthritis.
Soaking for ten minutes in very warm water with Epsom salts really eases mine, and a bought some compression gloves. They are good, and keep joints warm in cold weather too. Around £5-£10 Open finger tips so can still write and sew. 🙂

My hands are horrifying in the evening and night!! The ache so bad but even in the day, like you, when I go to do something I often drop it or can’t do it! I put Voltaren on them in the evening and sometimes wear tensor gloves just to have a bit of pressure!!

I hear you both ladies. I also have occasional hand issues. It used to be almost constant. I do not know what changed to be honest. My hands can cramp from holding a book to read , they can tingle and I've had them and also my whole arm go numb unto a total dead feeling. Yes, repetitive motions affect it. I like to knit and color. Finger exercises can help although they can hurt. Touch each finger to thoumb As if counting with thumb. Grip into a fist and release . As if throwning a ball away . Quick release. Push that ball away ! Itsy bitsy spider move. Hope this helps. And always gentle wringing the hands and massage each finger and joint. I hope this helps. Our hobbies help us and it's not good when our hands bothering us curtails this small pleasure .

I have had my hands go numb or tingle. It has spread to my feet going numb and or tingling as well. I have a wax bath that I need to get back to. I put in my hands in the hot wax and let it harden on my hand letting the heat help. I do the same with my feet. It is temporary but it helps. As for anything else I am not sure, sorry.

As an author this slows me down a lot. As someone who's hobbies involve repetitive motions are not my friend.

Hopefully people will chime in with other ideas.
