Noise, Smell, , Light, Touch Sensitivity
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi,

I am struggling with sensitivity to a whole host of things, noise is really disturbing me. Just general noises like lawn mowers in the background, birds chirping etc really panic me and feel as if they are right in my ear.

Peoples voices and phones ringing is hell. Also smells, sunlight and the texture and feel of certain things feels almost numbing.

Anyone else have this problem, very disturbing 😢

Unfortunately that’s part of the fibromyalgia. My main ones are noise sensitivity and light. Sometimes I actually jump because some sounds are so loud. I always have my tv on quiet and everyone complains because they can’t hear it lol.

Yes I'm sensitive to all the things you said . Noise is amplified a hundred times louder. Washing powders give me nausea. The list is endless. When I switch on a light in the home a pain shoots through my eyes and head. So sorry your going through this.try and stay strong xxx

It’s a symptom of fibro . With fibro , all your senses are heightened and more sensitive . Also any conditions are more painful
Ie colds , dr eye , cataract surgery , anything .

Yes. Some days are worse than others. Some triggers are worse more than others also. I think just about all my doctors have told me, "Your body is hypersensitive". I didn't really, truly know what that meant until everything became amplified. Now, its an orchestra of amplification on all senses. I'm so sorry you are going through this also.
