Worsening Of Certain Symptom
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

When this all began, I had a few nagging symptoms that came and went within hours each day. Lately, they have been longer lasting and more intense. Has anyone experienced a worsening of a certain symptom or area after some time?

I feel quitting the meds is definitely not worth it. I’ve done it so many times thinking they aren’t helping me only to find out I was crazy! Yes I also find the pain gets worse the longer we have fibro. Whether it be the intensity or the length of time or both, it definitely gets worse!

I have been diagnosed with FMS for over 30 years, but sick much longer. I actually got better after the first 20 years when I changed my diet. However, the last 8 years I have slowly declined. More pain, more flare ups. But I also have cut back on pain meds during this time, so I imagine I am just feeling more due to less pills. Last month I fainted and fractured my spine and started back on oxycodone for the pain. Needless to say, my FMS and my migraines have improved greatly!! 😂 PT started yesterday so the pain and swelling have increased again, so I will probably continue pain pills for another week or so. It will be interesting to see how I progress in the next month, and wether or not I will quit pain meds again. I truly hate them!

Yes, unfortunately. Lower rib cage area, started out as discomfort, feeling only pressure, then pain sometimes, then the combination of the two , then pain spread from front to the back, then the same repeated itself on the other side. The pain is there now all the time, from annoying to bad, to very painful. 9 years of slow back and forth dance with fibromyalgia. The rest of the the pain all over body, zapping, cramping, shooting, stabbing or deep pain in bones just the garnish to reassure me it is only fibromyalgia not like my cancer or gall bladder stones or whatever ☹️ Fibromyalgia look alikes are out there.
