Does Anyone Know The University Of Ohio Is Developing A Test For Fibromyalgia
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Two professors using vibrational spectroscopy are able to determine fibromyalgia, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis with 100% accuracy. Article + video published March 18, 2019 on the university's medical news site. The doctors explained that the test may even determine the severity of the fibromyalgia per patient (amazing!!) so that will mean a faster and more effective treatment. It is estimated that 75% (3 out of 4) of fibromyalgia sufferers have not yet been diagnosed.

I just read about this in an article in Science Daily. My son texted me about it last week asking me if the doctor Hackshaw in the article was the same doctor that I see. He is and I'm happy that he has made such a big discovery. He has taken good care of me for over 20 years. I knew he was doing research on not only fibromyalgia but also Lupus. This could make a big difference in the way we are treated once it gets to be the method for diagnosing fibro. Always the stigma of fibro has been that there was no definitive test to prove or disprove that we have it. What a blessing it will be if this works out as they think it will.

I read about this the other day and was very excited for the future. I know this is probably a long way off but people are trying to help with fibromyalgia. There is HOPE!

Best part of having him for my doctor is that he listens to me and understands that my body doesn't respond to things like most other people so is open to trying new things to help me. If I read about something he will tell me if he's heard of that treatment and if it has merit. I like that he is open minded about new treatments and lets me try new things that might help.

I’ll be looking out for that. Fingers crossed it’ll work.

I am thrilled to hear this. In addition to helping so many I hope all those practitioners who were so dismissive and condescending to us will feel ashamed of themselves...
