Members connected over the frustrating experience of muscles staying tight and tense even during sleep, with many sharing that they wake up stiff, cramped, and barely able to move without medication first. Several members offered practical strategies including taking magnesium malate supplements to relax muscles, holding stretches for longer periods (1-5 minutes), trying baclofen instead of methocarbamol, using CBD oil or marijuana before bed, and incorporating regular exercise like water aerobics or yoga despite the discomfort. A recurring theme was the exhausting cycle of trying countless remedies with mixed results, the emotional toll of feeling trapped in a body that won't relax, and the persistence required to keep experimenting until finding what works for each individual.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, have you tried smoking some marijuana with at least 9% THC or above to relieve pain. I smoke marijuana daily. Sativa’s during the day and Indicas just before bedtime. The head high gives your mind a break from processing pain signals, plus it makes everything more enjoyable; Food, TV, Music and even Stretching and light weight workouts.

Oh...how long do you hold your stretches for? Try holding them for a minute to start, then increase the time as it becomes easier. I hit the bong before I stretch and can easily hold a stretch for 5 minutes and have actually fallen asleep a couple of times during my 3 hour sessions.
FASCIA.....the cause of most tight muscle and soreness.

If you do not exercise regularly, you will havethe toughness and cramping. Stretching, but not right before sleep, does do wonders. About 45 min to an hour before, should be good. Have you tried CBD oil? I put a small amount with a bit of melatonin in my bedtime tea...and in the morning without the melatonin. I'm not saying this entirely solves the problem, but both methods do help greatly.

I also work out every other day, sometimes more, but it doesn’t help my stiff body when I first get out of bed and there’s no way I could stretch before getting out of bed, I need my pills in me for about an hour before I can move!
