They do give us about 6 pages of info on cipro when they.give us a prescription but not many people read it because they would be afraid to take any meds if we read what the side effects are. It is very scary not knowing what is safe for us to take and what isnt. Just do your best to try not to take any of these unless you have to. Have a nice weekend everyone. Hugs
I was in the hospital 3 years ago for colitis and they gave me Cipro IV, within 30 seconds, I had a red rash all over, and swelling, and trouble breathing. Very allergic to it.

Infortunately I have taken Cipro a few times and found it made me feel worse with more muscle aches. I too started researching the side effects and was shocked why was this drug ever allowed to be prescribed. the damage this drug does to your body doesn't go away once you stop taking it. It took me awhile to figure out why my body went on such a downward spiral and the only that I did differently was take this drug and had a light bulb moment. I told my doctor to never prescribe this to me again. My sister had a bad reaction to this drug as well. It would be interesting to know how many fellow warriors have taken this drug and found it has made their symptoms worse. There also seems to have a link between having mono and developing fibro later, which I had as a teen, anyone else experience this??
Helen, I pray everything is better with your Dad! Your right Lisa we do receive all the literature about the side effects, but I guess we're mistake ably too trusting. I woulda never taken Cipro for my uti if I woulda known what I know now. There are lots of other options. I believe it was Cipro that has caused me to have a horrible flare. I haven't had a flare like this in almost two years. It's very disconcerting that Drs would prescribe these meds without it being a life or death situation and it makes me angry for all the people that are affected!
