Has anyone experienced extreme face tension? I have tmj, but I also have a lot of tender spots and trigger points in my face. I noticed lately that when I am going on about my day, my jaw has a lot of tension. Even when I go to bed, I notice a lot of face tension. I tell myself to relax it and it works, but only for a half of a second then right back. I guess I do need to work on my breathing. I do hold tight a lot and stress and realize my breathing isn't deep enough. I know how to breathe through my stomach and not my chest, but I have to work on actual breaths not these short, get through it kind.

I always have tension in my face and jaw.
I realize it at the same time that I realize I need to breathe
Guess I am not alone.
I am trying to mindfully breathe.. and lose the tension..

I clench and grind my teeth at night and during the day if I’m not being mindful. I paid too much for a nightguard from the dentist. But every night IN MY SLEEP , I remove it. Found it on my pillow, inside my night shirt, and on the floor. By the end of a week, one of my dogs ate it. Not worth replacing, better off changing lifestyle now.
