Members overwhelmingly confirmed experiencing numbness, tingling, burning, and tenderness from hip to knee as a common and persistent symptom of fibromyalgia, with many describing how the sensations spread or worsen over time and some experiencing complete loss of feeling or mobility in their legs. Several members shared practical coping strategies including wearing loose, soft clothing, gentle stretching, light strength training, and avoiding tight fabrics that can intensify the burning sensation. A recurring theme was the difficulty in explaining these contradictory sensations to doctors and loved ones, the lack of definitive answers from neurologists and rheumatologists, and the isolating challenge of managing symptoms that fluctuate unpredictably despite appearing fine on some days.

Yes I do have this and they do not understand why the nerves in my left hip to knee than from my right hip to knee. It is all the time. I also have neuropathy in both sides of my body from my feet up my legs and in my wrists up to my elbows on both sides of my body. It has all gotten worse as the years go by. The neurologist and rheumatologist both agree it just keeps getting worse as the neurologist does the neuropathy tests and my rheumatologist does the fibro tests on my pressure points which is extremely painful. The neurology tests are not as painful compared to having your pressure points evaluated. The weather right now is a huge factor as we are having a snow storm here.

I also have an odd numbness in the left side of my body from my hip to my knee. It feels odd to the touch as though it is asleep but hurts if clothing touches it but yet I can take hold of the front of my leg with my hand in a grip of my leg that does not hurt but the least little touch of it with a finger or clothing hurts so bad. Inside my leg feels like it is burning. The neurologist nor the rheumatologist to not have the answer to these sensations but say it is not sciatica. It does not feel numb from my knee down, just right above my knee including my hip. It is hard to explain. I do not buy tight fitting clothes and the clothes have to be extremely soft to the touch. My body does not tolerate anything but super soft clothing. When I go in a store something may look really nice but if it is not soft, I will not buy it as I cannot stand the material against my skin. I understand what you describe and I do feel it in my left side more than my right side. It is getting worse over time. I think it has something to do with the nerves but the neurologist has run every test as well as the neurologist. They have ruled many things out but cannot find the source of this type of pain.

I have the tinggling and burning sensation in both hips right down to my toes. I also have the feeling like my skin is burning all over as soon as I get dressed in the morning, cloths seem to make it worse. But with my hips to my feet sometimes it gets so bad that I lose complete feeling and mobility in my left leg.

I have it in my left leg every day. Its starts in the bones at my hip and spreads all the way down my leg to my toes. The muscles twitch, spasm, go numb, become stiff, my knee hurt and it feels like my skin is on fire if I wear tight clothes. Streching and light strength training are begining to help though.
