Vaccines
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

As I have been reading here, some have mentioned their symptoms developed after receiving a vaccine. This got me thinking also because this is flu season and every year I debate whether or not to have the flu vaccine. Many years ago about 25 was the first and only year I had the flu shot and then I came done with Epstein Barr & then Mono then I was diagnosed with Connective Tissue Disease, then tested positive for Lupus, which are all connected to Fibro as an autoimmune disease.

I do not get any vaccines because when I went to get a flu shot the person giving them out said I will not give you one as I can see right from here you have a thyroid goiter and I cannot give it to you. I advise you to have your thyroid checked. After that my rheumatolgist put me on my thyroid medication which helped to shrink my goiter but there were nodules near it which thankfully all were benign. I will always have to take thyroid medication for Hashimoto's. They adviced me against getting and flu or pneumonia vaccines or any vaccines. I have had children's vaccines when I was small, and a German Measles Vaccine when I was in 9th grade as well as Polio in sugar cubes about 6 months before the German Measles Vaccine. Right after that I came down with Whooping Cough and then everything snowballed from there.

I know there is research on a connection with the herpes virus to fibromyalgia, of which icludes mono, EBV, cyomegalovirus and parvo. I have had all of these in my early 20's plus a MVA with soft tissue damage to my upper body. Trauma plus virus ? After getting West Nile virus in 2012, my fibromyalgia flared for over 1 1/2 years. I wish this was taken more seriously. 90% of sufferers are women as autoimmune is predominantly women. That's why I call it the F word on my Pinterest board. I'm going to try adding Lysine to my supplement regime.

I posted a question about vaccines a few days ago, but mine developed after the HPV vaccine 12 years ago Which I didn't need but didn't know that. I Was assured it was safe and necessary. Ha

This is the first year my PC Doctor has told me not to get a flu shot. I ask every year even tho I know I am not going to get one. I read an article that stated not to get the nasal spray if you have autoimmune problems because the nasal spray is live virus. I have never had the flu ever.
