Nausea
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

does anyone else suffer with nausea? i suffer from it quite a lot, especially when i first wake up. ive had blood tests for it but nothing has come up wrong. would it most likely be due to my IBS or can fibro cause nausea by itself? (sorry for another question im trying to understand as much as possible)

Yes, I suffer from nausea as do a lot of fibromites. We have alot of mucus in our stomach & our body doesn't absorb energy as it should. Therefore, the nauseating feeling now has a reason & makes sense when the lab tests can't explain or justify our pain or symptoms. I hope this helps.

I have this as well and it is my ibs, which is not easy nor controlled. I cannot tolerate the medications for this as it makes me feel worse than the IBS does without taking medications. I wait it out without eating until I feel better. Sometimes crackers do help the nausea but I cannot drink anything much with them without causing more nausea. IBS nausea in the morning is not always the same with me. It is more of a guessing game that I have learned to go with how I feel at any given time. Sometimes dry toast will help later in the morning or dry crackers. Sometimes I do not eat until later in the day. When I do eat, I eat in small portions of food my stomach handles. I had to start on one food at time to see what I tolerated and what I did not tolerate, just as you would a very young baby and slowly add a food at a time (or put it in the no column if my body does not tolerate that particular food). Prayers and God bless.

It makes my mom nuts that I don’t eat in the morning, I can’t, it just doesn’t sit well. I have protein bars, fruit and crackers I carey with me when the hunger finally kicks in. Still, tou should talk to your doctor.

Yah i would say it's the fibro which is also connected to ibs. Plus if you take any meds it's a known side effect.

I have nausea right before a big flair. It is my warning that I am in for a bad flair. Blah
