Natural Supplements?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor prescribed venlafaxine but after my problems with the other meds I'm afraid to try them! Has anyone find a supplement or other natural remedies that have helped their symptoms?

I find magnesium supplementation helpful. I have been using Rhodiola Rosea for about 6 months and it boosts my energy. But the most helpful has been LDN. It’s not a natural medecine but very low dose. After the initial adaptation period I have no side effects.

My husband found "Tiger Balm" patches. They are such a blessing, especially after trying
to walk around NYC with foot pain. The picture below explains how I was feeling.

@Gigabylen
I stopped most of my prescriptions, but I am on three high-blood pressure medications which is my own fault. I also have to take Allopurinol for Gout. I only use Tylenol at bedtime for pain, and I also take Gabapentin at night for restless leg syndrome so that I could sleep without the nerve aggravation. I also take one for high cholesterol. Rovustatin I believe. As for natural supplements I take Vitamin B Complex, D3, prebiotics, and probiotics, I do drink coffee but it has to be black and only in the morning up to four cups to protect my kidneys and liver. I stay away from most dairy, but I do eat butter sometimes, and cheese. I eat meals that my health insurance sends me that are diabetic meals. (I am prediabetic). The best way to help my pain is exercise, stretching, and using bands for resistance. Swimming and exercising in the water, and walking or dancing in my apartment. I like to make exercise fun. I tend to overdo it and will hurt for a while, but it is a hurt that I know I can get through and the more I do it the more I get used to it and the less I hurt. I do not want to lose the use of my limbs. I am trying to get strong enough to be able to ride horses or donkeys again. I am talking about mammoth donkeys. We all live with pain every day and night, but I am feeling a lot better than I did last year. I am battling with myself every day to try and eat a good diet because it is so expensive now. That is why those free meals are such a blessing. Massage therapy and physical therapy are great too as long as they do not force me to do weights. I do back exercises and neck exercises, and the rest is through dance. I use silver sneakers for free videos on the computer at my leisure. I will be praying for you to find what works for you.
