What foods have you cut out and what have you replaced them with?
I’ve cut out all processed foods, dairy, gluten, most alcohol (I have the occasional very dry wine or cider with no added sugar after the fermentation process), all sugar except very occasional dark chocolate (95% cacao), all grains, nightshade vegetables (mostly), legumes... mostly anything that makes my digestion go crazy!
I cannot eat melons, anything from McDonalds, perogies.....they all make me hurt to the point that I cannot get out of bed. I have cut out most dairy and gluten
Oh and I almost forgot SODA no soda and very limited juices because of the sugar. I like seltzer, the flavored ones are good.
Coffee. Now I drink Sanka and teas. Even with tea though I make sure it's decaf or caffeine free. Every so often I can get away with a cup but I can never drink it for too many days in a row. Sugar is something else I cut out a lot but I admit I haven't been able to just stop. I really love iced cream.
Sugar and fizzy drinks, some red wine makes me flare, some are okay. Artificial sweeteners are really bad for me.
Oranges cause me pain now, but apples are okay.
I use a carob/cocoa spread (no sugar) instead of chocolate in zero fat Greek yogurt, it tastes like chocolate ice-cream☺️
I buy pure unsweetened fruit juice and dilute it about a third juice, to two thirds water. (It's still plenty sweet)
I've become allergic to sweet &sour sauce that comes with Chinese takeaway! Last time, my gums and mouth literally went bright red, and kind of 'zinging' like tingling, not burning, but pretty uncomfortable.
I eat most vegetables, okay with tuna and dairy generally.
