Painless Twitching
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone experience random muscle twitching throughout your body? I used to get them on my eyes but now I get them on my legs and arms. They are not painful and not cramping or involuntary movement. It almost feels like a vibration. Anyone experience this?

Twitching and cramping - something is firing almost all of the time for me all over my body, including my nose and side of my cheek. My blood work shows that the magnesium level is fine and all of this has been happening for quite a few number of years. My opinion is that magnesium, for lack of a better term, "slows down muscle contraction and relaxation" and the level that is in my blood stream isn't enough to help with all that twitching/cramping. I take a larger dose of the magnesium and it seems to help. The diarrhea is the price I pay for being able to lessen the number and intensity of those cramps in the middle of the night.

The lack of sleep is a problem. The body requires sleep and I know it's a big problem for most all of us.

My eyes, legs, and arms twitch often. It is not painful. No doctor seems to have a real answer of why this happens.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. They don’t get worse but they are very noticeable in the evenings. For example I had twitches in my back, neck, calf, toes, knee, eye just today. Most times I can’t see them. But my muscles feel very tense so I’m sure that’s why. Its just very weird to feel. It comes on quickly and doesn’t linger in one spot too long. I wonderful if anyone else gets them as often. I would feel them every once in a while for these last few days have been non stop.

Our twitches are very different but I would call them that. Mine look more like a spasm and are unvoluntary. They are painless except if they happen too much or force me into horrible positions. Glad to hear they are painless! Do they get worse with strong emotions or exhaustion?
