Does Anyone Utilise Hand/wrist/finger Supports? Are They Beneficial?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am finding typing, writing painful and it isn’t getting easier. I get hand and wrist pain, initially I had put down to ise of my sticks, however anything to do with my hamds and wrists/fingers is becoming increasingly more painful and difficult. I have been told that supports would be a good idea and am at the doctors today to discuss options. Just touching this phone to type (gently and slowly) is causing bolts of pain in the tips oc my finger. Does anyone else have this difficulty? I do… read more

Hi! I have problems with my hands and wrists too, especially the left. I DO use a wrist and thumb support that I bought at Walmart. It's a godsend! I've never been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, but I do have cervical spinal stenosis, and I noticed that that seems to be a lot of problem with my hands and wrists. Thank God it isn't too much of an issue with my right hand too badly as that is my dominant hand, and I'm DEFINITELY not left handed! LOL!😉 I'm not sure what else to suggest except for keep asking other sufferers. I hope you have a better day today!
My little motto is, "Some days are diamonds and some days are stones." I'll be praying that today is a diamond for you!!

Hi, I’m wondering what you mean sweet? Was it that the supprts are not what they say they are? If it is then you would be in agreement with my doctor, I only asked as I use sticks and I just thought my wrists could use the support (thumb and fingers too) while supporting me. I need to keep moving as much as I can in order to help my back and pelvis.

I am in danger of being seriously immobile if I continue to utilise my chair as often, which right now is a lot but as a self propelled wheels chair becomes useless as my thumb and fingers hurt badly when trying to use it. I just wanted to know if the supports worked or not.

I am quite concerned though if its not the supports and you just need to chat with someone, I am here if you do. Big and gentle hugs Xx
