Members rallied around someone facing their first colonoscopy and endoscopy prep, offering practical advice to manage hunger and discomfort during the required fasting period. Several members recommended drinking chicken or beef broth to ease hunger, staying hydrated with apple juice and Gatorade to maintain blood sugar, and using barrier creams like A&D ointment before the prep to prevent irritation. The original poster later shared that while their colon was clear, severe inflammation was found in their upper intestines, with their doctor suspecting Crohn's disease pending biopsy results.

It went ok. Thank yall for the prayers. My colon was fine but i had severe inflammation in my upper/small intestines which they took biopsy and i should know in about a week. Dr said with my symptoms and the way my intestines looked, she thinks i have crohns.

I have had several scopes and unfortunately they are not much fun. We can deal with anything for a few days especially after dealing with fibro. I ate jello and popsicles but make sure no red purple or blue. Chicken broth does help the hunger too. My big suggestion to anyone having a scope is to get a & d ointment and use it before you start going to the bathroom. It will keep you from getting raw. Sorry if this is tmi, but it helps a lot. Good luck and remember its only 2 days between the prep and scope. You can do it.
