Hello everyone
My first post so hoping I can get some feedback because I have no idea what is going on with my body! About 6 months ago I started having random knee pain and soreness around my kneecaps (it would come and go). About a month later my elbows started hurting. I finally went to the doctor 2 months ago and he thought my knee pain was runner's knee since I was doing a number of 5 K's at the time (I'm very active and lead a healthy lifestyle). He was a little concerned the pain spread… read more

Yes I was diagnosed this last February. Been dealing with it for a year before. My doctor kept giving me more meds to try. Also had some steroid shots. I wasn't getting any relief. Finally sent me to the rheumatologist and the mystery was solved. I'm still trying to deal with it. Haven't settled on anything helpful yet. Good luck. Hope you get answers!

What you described is what I went and still go through just in a different order. I had Costochondritis first, then the joint pains/random pains all over as you described including the loud cracking and then it spread to my back and neck always being tense/sore/knotted at the tender points. I’ve had blood work done multiply times and it always came back normal. I hope you don’t have fibro as it’s really horrible and has been hard for me to accept. I’ve found that the arm/wrist/hand pain happens most when use my hands a lot. Wrist braces/compression braces for arthritis and carpal tunnel help a ton. If I’m going to be doing something that involves my hands for a while (such as the computer) I like to put them on first as it helps manage the pain and I can work longer.

My fibro isn't in my joints, it's in my fascia and it's a pain that's so difficult to explain. You can have other pain like osteoarthritis along with fibro. Also difficulty sleeping, fatigued, weak muscles and such severe pain that sometimes it's hard to take a shower and wash our hair. Running is pretty hard on the knees and other joints and people with fibro can't run 5K's, we usually stick to yoga, walking as best we can and slow stretches. I think the Rheumatologist will be able to check your tender points, 11 out of 18 to determine if you have it, and they are supposed to have a blood test for fibro now! Good luck with your Dr. In the meantime, maybe a nice Epsom salt bath soak. This may get rid of some of your pain! Gentle hugs!

For your sake I hope it's not fibromyalgia because if you have it there won't be any getting back to feeling normal again. It was super hard for me to accept this. I hope you get answers soon
