Members shared deeply mixed experiences with Lyrica for fibromyalgia and nerve pain, with some reporting life-changing relief from chronic pain, better sleep, and reduced anxiety, while others experienced severe side effects including dizziness, nausea, suicidal thoughts, voice tics, and sudden loss of arm strength. Several members described practical management strategies, such as starting with low nighttime doses before adding morning doses, closely monitoring for side effects during the first few weeks, and fighting insurance denials through doctor advocacy and sample packs. A recurring theme was that Lyrica works dramatically differently for each person, with some losing weight while others gained significantly, making it essential to try the medication cautiously while staying alert to both positive changes and warning signs that warrant immediately stopping.

I know it says you're supposed to gain weight when you take it. Last time I took it I was on it about 12 to 16 weeks and I lost about 8 pounds. I'm wanted again for 6 to 8 weeks I'm not quite sure I don't remember but at this point I once again lost 7 lb. I don't know if you're on it for a long period of time if you gain weight taking it. Hopefully my insurance will allow me to get the drug and then I will know more. So far so good though

I've been on Lyrica for several years now and for me it has 1 serious side affect. For about 2 hours after I take it, I loose strength in my arms and hands so I can be carrying a plate of food or a glass of soda and all of the sudden my hands and arms just drop and everything I am carrying is now in a big mess of food and broken glass on the floor so I have to be very careful. Also, my wife tells me that when I go to sleep after taking Lyrica, my whole body jerks suddenly and she said that goes on the whole time I'm asleep. I've not had any other problems and I've been on it so long that if there was going to be anything very dangerous from it I would have been taken off of it along time ago.

I have taken it since feb/march yes it has got me to gain about 60 pounds and I am always sad and tired. I have no drive. But now that I am taken things into my own control they have winged me off it and I already feel a difference. So I guess it's case by case and it can work for some while others have issues or nothing from it, but do research since it is our lives and our bodies.
