Maybe as you have nursing experience you could work privately for people who want a companion. I know people who for example take young people with downsyndrone swimming or to the cinema. They have really rewarding jobs to. Or shopping for older people.
I clean, iron or shop for people. Won't work for everyone but it does mean I can decide my own hours ect and have rest time. I try to just work in flats or small houses
I worked for one of the big 3 telecommunications company for 18 years and had to retire on disability in 2007. I loved my job and regret to this day having to stop working. The financial adjustment is the worse.
I'm a qualified early childhood teacher but had to give up my job working in a preschool. I now work as a play therapist so i still get to work with children but its only with 1 at a time instead of 5 - 30 children. ๐
