TVT Mesh Surgery
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Has anyone had mesh surgery for prolapse, hernia or urinary incontinence? I have and ive recently discovered a facebook group called sling the mesh. A lot of people have developed fibromyalgia after having mesh surgery. I had my diagnosis before my surgery but i didnt realise the problems im having now could be mesh related and there are probably loads of people out there that dont realise this. Even if you havent had mesh surgery it makes an interesting read and can forwarn you if ypu need it… read more

Me 6 years ago
Fibromyalgia symptoms started 4 years ago
My husband alerted me to this on Saturday after watching a news report and I honestly don't know what t do with this information
Researching it and removal seems to bring a host of other problems
I have to admit I'm so happy to see it on here
Support is everything but this is very upsetting
Much love x

@A MyFibroTeam Member It's not fibro causing the bladder problems it's the mesh used in the repair that is causing the problems, including fibromyalgia

I had TVTO mesh surgery in2012
I had no symptoms till 2014 and each year everything just got worse and worse resulting in a fibro diagnosis in early 2018
In October just passed we finally linked the mesh to whats happening to me. My body is literally rejecting and reacting to my mesh causing auto immune diseases and alot of pain to put it simply
I have been saying for years I feel poisened from the inside out. I would love to put myself and my experience out there if it saves someone from this horror. Mesh implants are permenant with a small number of surgeons able to help (1 uk 1 America 1 Canada from my research. this horror is a real mess
many gentle hugs xxx

i had a bladder prolapse several years ago. got my gyn to fix it and he didnt use a mesh. said he used stitches. but is is down again. i am not in a hurry to get it done again. just dont get in my way when i have to go. also take water pills for leg swelling due to venous insufficiency . So i am wearing extra heavy poise pads at bedtime, cause i never make it to the bathrooom in the morning, and lighter but full size pads all day cause i leak. what a way to spend my senior years

I started having alot of bacterial infections and pain in my back, abdominal area, and legs. The sling had eroded and I had a severe infection in my abdominal area. My right leg ended up locking up and I was in the hospital for a week. I was put on heavy pain meds and was out of work for a month and half before my surgery. Due to the infection I lost 40 pounds in a month. I did check them out and joined. Thank you so much @A MyFibroTeam Member
