Has Anyone Tried The Lightning Process?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

For people who haven't heard of the Lightning Process, it's basically a 3-day neuro-physiological training programme based on self-coaching. It's kind of controversial with both good and bad things about it online. What they claim is that, sufferers of chronic syndromes like CFS or fibromyalgia are stuck in a nervous system dysregulation, which causes the physical emergency response (flight or fight) that compromise body's systems and create the symptoms. I think it sounds interesting and I am not sure how can you get hurt by trying this program. Some fibro sufferers developed fibro because of anxiety, stress and related reasons. I think it makes perfect sense, just like a psychotherapy or cognitive behavioral therapy to increase conscious awareness of your physical and psychological responses to any stimulus and intervene if you can to influence to outcome such as bodily pain. So I would definitely give it a try, I am not sure what the details are but if anything different what I already did or know I will try it. As far as fibromialgia reversibility, potential full recovery, there are studies that people can recover within 2 years of diagnosis. The 2 years seems to be a limit, if you cannot leave this disease behind full recovery is unlikely. I will try to find the link to the article and post it later.

There is never a total recovery from fibro until a scientific cure is found. Your symptoms can go dormant for a while and it will take some form of stressor on the body for them to flare again.
