Members confirmed that tinnitus (ringing in the ears) is commonly experienced alongside fibromyalgia, with many describing constant ringing, buzzing, or whistling sounds that range from mildly annoying to painfully loud. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them cope, including sleeping with white noise machines, fans, or TV on, taking magnesium supplements (1200 mg for muscle cramps, which may also reduce tinnitus), trying over-the-counter Lipo Flavonoids Plus (B vitamins available at Walmart), and using sleep therapy apps. A recurring theme was the importance of seeing an ear, nose, and throat specialist to rule out other causes and explore treatment options, while acknowledging that many members have learned to adapt to the constant noise over time.

I have had tinnitus for over 30 years - I sleep with the tv and a fan on so I can sleep. It is so loud some days that it kinda hurts and most days it's annoying, but I can ignore it. I take 1200 mg. of magnesium for the muscle cramps and I think that might be keeping the tinnitus down a bit. ???
