I have been so down and out for weeks now, I keep wondering when it’s going to end! When I went to my doctor last week, as soon as he said how are you doing, I burst into tears! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve cried in the last few weeks but definitely not suicidal or anything just upset! I feel like nobody understands or wants to understand fibro and I’m fed up of people’s stupid answers or statements! I’m even fed up with my son and I’m hoping I can stop myself from telling him off… read more

Members deeply connected over the emotional toll of fibromyalgia, with many sharing that depression and isolation are common side effects of living with an invisible chronic illness that others struggle to understand. Several members described losing friendships, feeling dismissed by family who don't grasp the daily reality of pain, and finding therapy or support groups helpful for processing the frustration of being expected to function normally while suffering in silence. A recurring theme was the importance of setting boundaries, grieving the loss of old relationships without guilt, and finding solace in communities where members truly understand what it means to live with fibromyalgia.

I think its human nature, we fall ill and so called friends and family slowly edge out of your life. Everybody is so busy and self absorbed these days and you have to just live with it and concentrate on your own well being. Those who genuinely care will be there for you, this horrible illness robs us all of the freedoms we used to enjoy and believe it or not others resent that fact. It took a while before my family realised something was seriously wrong, i have the opposite problem now they treat me like im made of glass now. As i said before sit down and have a family meeting and let it out, tell them how you feel, what fibro does to you and how your life is changed and you need their help. I really hope you get some help and some understanding. I hope this helped.

It isn't saying anything about you to ask to talk with a therapist who has other fibro clients. Frankly it is nice talking to someone who has to listen to you bitch about things for 50 minutes. And better to complain to them than to a friend.

I AM so very sorry. Unfortuntaly , I too know excatly how you feel. Everybody is there when you reach out to help them , but when your having a rough time of it nobody is ever aeound. My friend circle went from over 60 woman down to one. Only time I talk to the others is if I reach out to them to see how they are doing. Hugs and prayers sweetie. Depression is a evil , evil situation to climb out of. Know we are here for you when you need us.
