Members connected over the frustrating experience of excessive sweating, identifying multiple potential causes including fibromyalgia itself, thyroid issues, medications like Cymbalta and muscle relaxers, and surgical menopause from hysterectomy. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them manage sweating, including using men's clinical-strength deodorants like Sure Sport, applying foot powder designed to absorb moisture, placing ice blankets or cold cloths on the neck and upper back to stop episodes, and replenishing electrolytes with drinks like Powerade or Gatorade. A recurring theme was the challenge of navigating overlapping conditions, with many members experiencing sweating so severe it soaks through clothing and bedding, yet finding relief through a combination of cooling techniques, stronger antiperspirants, and staying hydrated.

@A MyFibroTeam Member sweating is a symptom of fibro also a side effect to medications. Also sweat with Thyroid problems. I have both and plus being menopausal I sweat all the time. Specially if u do anything doesn't even have to be strenuous. Hugs and Prayers

I find that the summer heat really gets me. I feel totally drained and worn out. The sweat starts in my scalp and my hair is absolutely drenched. :-(

@Hi Nesha! Hope You are feeling well today! I'm so-so! Temperature changed by 10° out so and has rained for the last several days and the sun is bright and high today...Well...You just gave me the most likely reason for the sweating ! That's why the million questions 😁. You had a hysterectomy at 38 and you have Fibrocrud. Sweating is definitely a lovely symptom of Fibro for sure BUT...the Hysterectomy that you had caused your body to go into menopause surgically. Where normally a woman would at some point just stop having a normal cycle then stop altogether and then be clobbered with all that sweating business (some of us call them personal Summer's 😁) So you got thrown into it artificially. As I mentioned you also sweat with Fibro. So double-whammy! You could ask your Dr about a low dose estrogen patch or hormone replacement but if you can manage without I'd do without. Hope this helps you at least a little bit!?

I have periods where I have problems with sweating. There was a time where I was soaking my bed and then shivering off and on. It’s weird. I have also had a hysterectomy and I am continually fighting dry eyes and dry mouth.
