I have trouble swallowing, not just tablets but water or food, it also gets painful and seems to get stuck going down , I haven't been to the doctors yet as I'm sick of always going, just waned to no if anyone else has these problems thank you xx
Difficulty swallowing is a symptom of Fibro
Yes! On and off for years. Finally it was happening so often that I had an endoscopy. Dr said he felt some resistance getting the scope past the area that I complained about and the biopsy showed GERD. He started me on omeprazole which I wasn’t happy about but I have to say it has been SO much better since! I would have it checked out by a gastroenterologist. Peace of mind also just knowing what was going on. Good luck!
I've been having problems swallowing lately too. I have had pills get stuck going down and I have aspirated them and drinks also. I'm not sure what its from but several people on here have had the same issue. Maybe it has something to do with the muscles in our throats since fibro affects the muscles. I'm tired if doctors too. 30 years of this, is getting really old. Hugs
Please seek a good Gastroenterologist for an endoscopy. It is possible you have a yeast overgrowth known as Esopageal Candidiasis. More common in people who eat processed foods (like me). A course of Fluconazole should clear it up, if, indeed, it is Candida.
I deal with difficulty in swallowing...didn’t know if it was a fibromyalgia symptom...it can be painful at times. I also have to be careful of choking ....everything in that area is made up of tissue and muscles, so it stands to reason there could be problems with swallowing.....
