I am allergic to shell fish, red dye and so many other things. I was wondering if there was a connection. I have a horrible time with insect bites too
I use lotion when i think of it for my itchy skin and i try and use really thick healing lotion for dry patches and cracks in my skin, others ill use a more smooth lotion so it will spread easier for an all over coverage and i try to avoid perfumed lotion (unless pampering myself or going out due to the fact it can dry out your skin and make it itchy from the chemicals)
@LisaKilbourne i am so sorry to hear about your reaction to sulfa mine isnt the same like that but its a reaction i never want to experience again.
The only thing I use is organic goat milk soap with organic tea tree oil in it. It seems to help the itch and keeps my skin from getting too dry. But I am so allergic to everything including insect bites
Itchy all over, most of the time. I had read once that itchiness is one of the many symptoms of fibro. My face itches most of the time - regardless of what I use, which is always for sensitive skin, even then, products can and do make me itch and break out in a rash or hives. Also allergic to sulfa drugs.
It's difficult to sit still during a sermon, or a class - rather annoying.
@A MyFibroTeam Member. Sulfa drugs are very dangerous to people who are allergic to it like we are. I made my mom sleep by me when I had a bad reaction to it because I thought I was going to die. It was very scary. Once we have a bad reaction, we have to be very careful since most of us will probably have other reactions to different meds. I was covered in hives for a month and it took 5 doctors to figure out I was having a drug interaction. The hives were in my lungs and I felt like I was going to suffocate. They finally put me on steroids which saved my life. Scary stuff. I hope you never go thru it again. If anyone ever has a bad reaction to anything, go to the er immediately. It only takes a short time to die from allergic reactions if you don't get treated. Don't chance it. Hugs.
@A MyFibroTeam Member one of my allergies is sulfa antibiotics. It was a severe horrible reaction too. My Dr even told me my body basically has an. Allergic response to heat (actual diagnosis is a severe heat intolerence) it can get so bad that i will break out in whelps. He put me on an antihistimine about 11 or 12 years ago for it. I get really weak dizzy lathargic and everything its like my body just doesnt respond well to things. He also had me stay in the shade and carry water and be able to sit down if needed bc my job back then reequired me to go outside even if it was only 15 min lol. But everyone there knew and witnessed my reactions so they worked with me
OMG yes... My allergy medicine doesn't work..
I have had many allergic reactions too. Sulfa almost killed me. I don't know if its from fibro but it could be because our immune systems are not as good as people without it.my allergy doctor told me he could not test me because I had so many reactions that the test could kill me.
Kinda but i havent been tested jist have had reactions and seasonal allerfies as well
I have a lot of allergies that cause me to have almost constant sinus problems. I get allergy shots. I have some food sensitivities but no.true food allergies.
Yes, I am allergic to milk, beef, corn, tomatoes, apples, and I'm gluten intolerant. I am also sensitive to insect bites. Went on a canoe trip a number of years ago and I was the only one in our canoe getting bitten by flies. Also, since I quit eating dairy products, I no longer have hay fever - completely gone.
