I got cymbalta perscribed to me today but I wanted some input before taking it.
After reviewing my options with my primary we chose Cymbalta to start with. I have been on 30 mg for almost a month now. My first 4-5 days did include some side effects while my body adjusted. Within the first week I noticed immediate improvement in my pain. Although it does not take away the pain it makes it more tolerable. My doctor explained that fibromyalgia is difficult to treat and the pain will never be fully gone but finding the right treatment plans to help significantly reduce the pain is the goal and I am very happy with the overall effect Cymbalta has had on my pain and my anxiety and muscle tightness. I also do nightly heat on my upper back, shoulders, and neck and this helps keep my muscles relaxed before bed. I do yoga daily to keep my muscles stretched and strengthened and I roll my legs and back to stretch the muscles as well. Again nothing I do makes my pain go away but between everything I do my quality of life is so much better and I feel more like myself. I know Cymbalta is not for everyone but for me it has been a life changer.
@A MyFibroTeam Member. I was on cymbalta for a year. Stared out with 30mg seemed like they could not get the dose right. Ended up taking 120mg. 60 in morning and 60 @ nite.Hugs and Prayers

Yes this med worked for me for the pain. Too high a dosage had side effects of euphoria. I had to stop taking it.
