I have restless sleep but it feels like it's more in my legs, where I can't find a comfortable position for my legs and they feel hot.

Members connected over the frustration of restless leg syndrome, with many describing the unbearable nighttime discomfort that disrupts sleep and leaves them feeling desperate for relief. Several members shared medications that provided at least some help, including gabapentin, pregabalin, pramipexole, and Requip, while others found relief through natural remedies like daily magnesium supplements, bananas for potassium, staying well-hydrated, and ensuring adequate iron or ferritin levels. A recurring theme was the importance of trying multiple approaches, from stretching and timing medications before bed to simple dietary changes, and remembering that relief often comes from a combination of strategies rather than relying on pharmaceuticals alone.

My daughter and husband have restless leg syndrome and found research stating that magnesium deficiency is a possible cause. My daughter started taking magnesium every day and says it helps. She notices a difference when she misses taking it. Hope it helps.

Sometimes the simplest answers are overlooked, for example:
i was getting "charlie horse" type cramping more often and at night then my son's girl asked me when i last had bananas, she suggested i may need potassium, i got a bunch of bananas cut up in a bowl with some yummy chocolate syrup and PRESTO, put an end to the cramping and i didn't spend $$$ on supplements, $3. worth of fruit that i enjoyed.
.**Dehydration can cause a myriad of ills, being extra mindful of when i drink my H2O has made a big difference. I start and end my day with a great big glass of water... **before i have a coffee in the AM and the last thing i drink before retiring at night... since i've committed to it i have less headaches and other cramping ( as in abdominal "gut pain") has eased somewhat.
I've lived with and suffered from the horrific symptoms of fibromyalgia for at least three decades now. While i'm not saying you can address every problem with a simple solution like hydration or diet, it's important not to rely on pharmaceuticals for everything either. Keep an open mind, stay hopeful and remember you're not alone

my neurologist prescribes meds to help with restless leg syndrome. I currently take requip and it really helps. I also have to have extra iron, as low ferritin levels will cause flare ups with RLS. Hope this helps

Restless Leg Syndrome runs in my family.
It drives you crazy.
You can get Drugs now but they don't help that much.
I have lost numerous nights sleep because my legs can't keep still

It drives me nuts too; seriously crazy! It does ease up a bit with pregabalin and prescription cocodamol... But in the warmer months I spend my evening dipping my feet in and out of a bucket of cold water... Hurts if I get to cold so can't keep them in for long 🤦
