I have herniated discs that are pinching nerves in my low back. The Neuro is sending me to the neurosurgeon. I just went to a new chiropractor to see if he can help. He suggested decompression therapy. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this and if it helped. Also, did it cause a fibro flare? I'm really not wanting to have surgery. Thanks. I hope you all have a blessed day.

Members shared their experiences with spinal nerve compression and decompression therapy, with one member reporting that a friend tried it for many months with temporary relief before ultimately needing surgery. Several members described their own journeys with herniated or bulging discs, including experiences with radio frequency ablation, cervical fusions, and nerve release surgeries, with outcomes ranging from significant long-term relief to temporary improvements followed by ongoing pain. A recurring theme was the importance of finding the right surgeon, weighing the risks and benefits of surgery carefully, and trying conservative treatments first while being mindful not to wait so long that permanent nerve damage occurs.

Hi I have the same 3 herinated discs and one that pops in and out when it feels like it and is very painful I've had 2 radio frequency in pain relief the first one worked well lasted me nearly 2 years and one done 2016 only lasted 10 months and after I had so much numbness and felt like I had sun burn and it's never gone and that's since my pain started every where else I've never been told about decompression so I wouldn't know but I know your pain. Please let me know if you have it done who's you luck

We have a friend who tried decompression for many months. After a while it quit working. She has had a couple surgeries and is doing much better. Only problem is that it has moved up to her neck.
Hugs to you and prayers for complete healing.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. Thanks for sharing. I went to the chiropractor yesterday and asked him if he knew how many nerves are being pinched from looking at the mri. He said 4 are being pinched. wonderfull. I am gong to give the chiro a chance to help me before i decide about surgery. My neck surgeries went very good but i know back surgeries can be good or bad and i'm not ready to do that yet. I'm glad you are finally recovering from yours. I know how bad the pain can be from back and neck problems. I hope you fully recouperate soon. hugs

I had a pinched nerve in my lower back for over 20 years the kept telling me it was static nerve pain. Well found the right nuero surgeon and had surgery for release the pinched nerve, it was completely pinched with in my bone and they were sceptical if it would be successful. It took about a year to get 80 percent relief bit it was worth it.I also had the same isussue in my neck and had to have surgery to correct the same issue that is taking a little longer to recover from. I am not telling you to run out and have it done find the right surgeon. But I wouldn't wait too long you may never get that pain subside. I hope this is some what helpful. Hugs to you I know what you are going through.
