My primary care physician treats me. I saw a Rheumatologist as a second opinion to see if they would treat me different. I was told my pcp was doing a good job treating me and that they wouldn't do anything different and I was better off remaining in the care of someone who knew me as well as my primary doc does.

Either one can diagnose fibro but you will actually be better off with a pain management doctor. Alot of rheumatologists won't even treat fibro. I hope you find a good pain doctor.

See my bio if you are new to this.. lots of alternative, integrative therapies to think about trying.

Neither. The recommended go to is just your family doctor (at least in Canada). I only went to a rheumatologist to rule out autoimmune disorders. There's evidence to suggest that there may be a neurological cause, but not enough for neurologists to specialize in it.
